| Portal Member | I'm using Mediaportal's screen selector feature to start MP in fullscreen mode on my secondary display which is 42" Mirai LCD TV. I've ran into two problems with this setup: 1. Stuttering: TV and video (for example .mkv files) stutter about 3-4 second interval, pause is very quick but it is disturbing. Stuttering is clearly visible if I set DirectX exclusive mode OFF: Every time the picture stutters, tearing occurs. I've tried several x264 and mpeg2 decoders. 2. Artifacts in picture: Blinking bright green artifact (one pixel wide, two pixels high) in the middle of the screen, sometimes another in top-middle of the screen. Artifact(s) is/are not blinking always, but quite often. If I set DirectX exclusive mode OFF this problem is gone, but then I get tearing. And no, these are not dead pixels, because my TV actually has one and it's nothing like same ![]() And finally: If I configure MP to start on my primary display which is Viewsonic 22" TFT both problems are GONE. If I play video files directly with Mediaplayer Classic on my primary or secondary display, no problems at all. Another weird thing is that sometimes the log file says "Main: DX exclusive mode: False" even if I've enabled it in configuration file. And in this way could I "dedicate" secondary card to Mediaportal... Last edited by seco; 2007-10-17 at 16:59. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

| Portal Member | Ok, I found one solution for the 1. stuttering problem: I installed DScaler5 MPEG codecs and changed Mediaportal to use DScaler as a MPEG2 encoder instead of nVidia Purevideo and voila: stuttering is gone. BUT, now the audio is way out of sync and the picture quality is poor compared to Purevideo. Any ideas? |
