| Area: Media Portal Program / TV MP Version: 0.2 Skin: Blue Windows Version: XP SP2 CPU Type: Intel P4 2.6ghz Memory: 512 mhz Motherboard Chipset: Intel made for dell precision 340 Video Card: Nvidia Geofrce FX5500eq 256Mhz/128bit Video Card Driver: 91.31 forceware Video Card Resolution: 1280x720 Video Render Type: VMR9 Video Codec Type & Version: Nvidia Purevideo Audio Codec Type & Version: Nvidia Purevideo TV Card: ATI HDTV wonder TV Card Type: ATSC TV Card Driver: 6-1_hdtv_83-2036 Optional Log: none Optional References: none Synopsis: everytime I get into the TV module of Mediaportal My PC lock up completely or mediaportal will just shutdown by itself and give me an error saying it had to shutdown with no info why. It happens everytim I try to use the TV module. Everytihing else works fine. Have been told the videocard will not support HD but I have tried 720P HD vuideos and they work fine. Anyhelp would be appreciated, Love the software and wuold hate to have to let it go just because of this problem. |

| Portal Member | I don't know the specific card, but if the card is not a hardware-mpeg card, it probable stresses your CPU/GPU far more than plain 720p playback. Have you tried different codecs?

(and when some dev adds better menu handling, multiple calls to modules and plugins with different options and much better dbase handling, it will be love... ah and a nice 3D front end and inter-module messaging system and...)

| Well the card does says Full MPEG2 supported, not sure if that is the same as hardware MPEG. But I know I do have it set to hardware on the Nvidia forceware software. and it does have an integrated TV encoder too, not sure if that helps but it should. Haven't tried diff decoders, any suggestions on which decoders to try? Thanks |
