Default PVR 150 now takes up to 50 seconds to start playing 1st time

Hi,

I've been running the latest CVS's for a while and a week or two ago I picked up a problem whereby the first time I tune to a channel that comes through my PVR-150 it takes a long time to become active...

It never used to do this and my other (DVB-T) tuner has no problems but the first time I use the PVR-150 after turning TV on it takes this long time to come to life.

I've included a snapshot of the mediaportal log which shows the delay but doesn't seem to offer any obvious reason why - I know it's not an MP because I'm running the same CVS on another machine with a PVR-150 and it has no problems.

I note that in setup if I delete the capture card and go to add it back I get the same delay - that led me to think about the drivers so I uninstalled and reinstalled but no difference.

I also not that in setup MP has given both my tuners the 'friendly name' card2 - but looking in the logs it seems to have both card 1 and 2 so that may not be anything...

Any ideas???? If anyone has any ideas that might save me a reinstall that would be great

This may not be the problem but it would be best to eliminate this. This is a bug I have noticed will happen if you add two cards, delete the first, then add it back in again (I believe this is the sequence). If you delete both cards then add them back in again you should get the normal "card 1", "card 2" thing. If they have some same friendly name this may effect things like folder creation in the Recordings folder (as folders are created as Recordings/friendlyname).

Hey Jawbroken - thanks for the suggestion - I have tried deleting both cards and re-adding and it still seems to show them both as card 2 - weird. Maybe a reinstall is warranted.

Now - here is a change - after my playing with this last night - it is now only the very first time I tune into my PVR that has the problem - so if I turn TV on and off after the first time it is quick - which makes it a smaller problem (because my MP is almost never turned off!)

Do you have a card1 and card2 folder in your Recordings folder? This may not be the issue, but it is strange.

I have had the same problem in all recent CVS versions - I have a PVR150 as well and it also appears as card2 (I have never used 2 cards, although I do have a camcorder attached).

It used to be that the TV page would open, then you would get a long delay (same place as yours in the .log file) - about 3 weeks ago a change was made and now the delay occurs before the TV page opens - the .log looks the same.

I don't know if this helps but here is my recorder.bak log file. I pressed the "Live TV" button at 12:10:00 to turn the card on. It didn't initialize until 12:11:11 or 71078.125 msec as the log states.
