PVR 500MCE mytv timeshift problem

OK, S/W-Card support seems to be removed... So I went shopping to get a new Hauppauge PVR 500MCE, but unfortunately I'm still havng some problems...

First Problem:

TV without timeshift works (nearly) without problems (see below) - I can switch channels, record, ...

When I swith on TV without timeshift and then switch on timeshift still everything seems to be OK. But when I change the channel with timeshift switched on, picture and sound start stuttering heavyly. Even if I switch back to the channel which originally worked, stuttering goes on.
Only solution is: going back (at least) 15 seconds so that MP does not play what it's actually recording, but what it recorded 15 seconds ago. Result: stuttering is gone. If I go these 15 seconds ahead, stuttering again.

I tried all I can imagine as solution: different codecs with or without hardware-acceleration, changing PCI latency in the bios or with the utility mentioned here in a thread about PVR 500 with Via Kt266 (now all the latencies are 0, only my nvidia 6200 and my Belkin Pre-N wlan have a latency of 32, which were originally 248)...

Second Problem:
Does ffdshow postprocessing only work when using ffdshow video codec? Don't want to use this codec because I paied money for my nvidia purevideo... But anyway want to see if there is an improvement by ffdshow... How can I determine if postprocessing is active? Is there also a tray icon as if i use the ffdshow video-codec? can't find one, only the nvidia purevideo icon... Besides I cannot chose ffdshow video-codec in MP. Doesn't appear on the list although it's installed. Chosing ffdshow audio codec works. Windows Mediaplayer uses ffdshow video codec automatically... Looks like my codecs are somehow messed up...

Hi,

1) Difficult to say. Something visible in the logs?
- Start MP
- Start TV with timeshift
- Stop / exit MP
/Team Media Portal/MediaPortal/logs/mediaportal.log

Turn off ffdshow postprocessing!
Records do work?
Do you use a clean partition for recording (defrag)?
DMA settings for the harddrive?

2) ffdshow:
Do not know if it currently works with My TV.
You can set ffdshow to RAW video. Then it should be applied to everything.
Start->Programs->ffdshow->Video Decoder Configurations->Codecs->Raw video
You can see if ffdshow work with turning on OSD
Start->Programs->ffdshow->Video Decoder Configurations->OSD (takes much CPU)

Warning! Your CPU is not fast enough for ffdshow postprocessing, i fear. I have problems using it, with my 1700+

ffdshow is turned off. Will try this part if everything else works.

Recording seems to work - at least if I record what I'm watching. If i start recording what I'm actually watching and then switch the channel recording seems to stop, but this problem seems to be known for all double tuner cards...

Here's the log. Started MP, switched on TV without timeshift, then switched on timeshift and then changed the channel. Stuttering began...

Recording goes to a 200GB partition, ntfs, nearly empty. Using DMA 5 and h2benchw gives me some 50 MByte/sec

Is there anybody out there who uses a PVR500MCE with an Asus a7v266-e or any other via kt266a mainboard so that I can exclude any compatibility problem between TV-card and mainboard?

I've got another A7v600 if the problem should be the a7v266. Anybody using a via kt600 mainboard with a pvr500mce?

I've my PVR500MCE on a AOpen board and don't experience the problems.
From time to time i got a Bluescreen inside the Hauppage driver, but since applying a new CVS snapshot that's gone.

I've got the exact same problem only with a 150MCE. I also use the nvidia codecs and record to a 300gb hdd only for that purpose.

At the moment I don't and can't use the timeshifting option and even switching between channels sometimes gives this stuttering behaviour.
