Because this is what it does in my setup. With XP it worked perfectly (every kind of user input prevented suspend). I've upgraded to vista and now I have this problem... I will try to post logs later if necessary.

I have another problem with the Power Scheduler. Actually, I want windows to decide when to go to standby. Thus I enable the standby feature in windows. Power Scheduler should only wakeup the PC when necessary, and disallow to shut down whenever it is busy.
So I setup Power Scheduler to the "Stay On" feature. The reason why I want it this way, is that I have SqueezeCenter running in background ("behind" Media Portal"). Squeeze Center (Soft Squeeze) is a streaming music software. Now I don't want the PC to shut down whenever Soft Squeeze is playing music. I couldn't use the "preventing processes" function of the TvSetup, because the process of Softsqueeze is always there, no matter if it is playing or not. But the problem now is, the PC always stays on. Mediaportal doesn't seem to "release", I mean allow the PC to shutdown. How can I setup the Powerscheduler in a way that it releases the PC, so it can go to standby? Thanks for reading Daniel |

Mediaportal will not allow this with it's current setup.
The far more sophiticated PVR-Scheduler may even have trouble doing this, but have a look at its options, this is the website address. http://www.pvr-scheduler.de/index.php It's not officially a part of MP, but stsc does a good job of incorporating just about anything, with scheduling different power options. If that will not do what you want, then nothing will that i know of.

Hi Ray
Thank you very much for your fast reply. I will have a look at this PVR thingy. Is it a problem to do this in Power Scheduler, or is just not addressed yet? In my imagination, this is only a flag that an application has to set, like saying "i'm busy", or "i'm bored". When all apllications are bored, Windows knows it can fall asleep? Like with iTunes, as long as I'm playing something, Windows won't go to standby. When I stop the music, it goes to standby after 5 minutes. If it's not too complicated, I would like to propose this as a feature reguest ![]() |

I'm having a similar problem.
Since RC1 (the 2 May SVN build), MediaPortal's PowerSheduler plugin would put my computer in stand-by after X mintes of inactivity, even if MediaPortal isn't running (only TV Server service running). This has been causing alot of frustration. I've now disabled the PowerScheduler plugin in TV-Server, and my system isn't being suspended anymore. Problem now is, it won't suspend even if MediaPortal is running. |
