Guys,

after reaching a quite stable configuration with rc2 plus one of the last CVS, I did upgrade to RC3 + Last CVS.

I would never do this.
Channel saved with rc2 can't be restored in rc3.
After autotuning I get lot of black screen channel that where visible with rc2.
Channel change is extremely slow. Sometime 10 sec or more with time shift.

XLMTV files copied from the "old" working xmltv is not working anymore

Guys what's happen ?

I'm going back to rc2. Fortunally I did a complete backup.

Guys wait for a more stable release before upgrade again !

Erhh...this is a release candidate you know?! It was bound to have bugs and stuff in it. If you want the latest stable release try 0.1.3 or wait for the 0.2 release.

Why are you posting in the general support section when you clearly do not want support? Why did you post a support template if you were rolling back to RC2 anyway? I am confused, do you even want people to help with your problems or is this whole topic just you complaining and telling everyone you are going back to RC2? If so, thanks for the information (or, rather, for nothing).

Please see here http://mediaportal.elite-squad.net/forum/
and post bugs in cvs in this tester forum. Some problems are fixed in last cvs.

Claudio

I had only a minor problem upgrading to RC3 and since then I haven't had one single crash, not even while compressing files to WMV (which usually caused a crash before).

The dev team is doing an INCREDIBLE job and RC3 is proof! Anyone with the balls to slam MP or any of the devs needs a good swift kick! (Yes I'd be glad to do it)

Guys,

I have posted this tread, just because I am surprise that, after the huge improvement did with rc2 + last cvs, mainly with SS2, my expectation with RC3 was to start al least from the same point of the last CVS.
Mediaportal is a fantastic project but my idea is that, I personally prefer to have 1 feature less but a stable and usable system.
I'm happy to note you are not impacted from the RC3 upgrade, but please, believe me, my system is unuseful now.

After more than one year waiting for stability, I need to start again to wait.

Just this.

Bye

Claudio

hi claudio!

i perfectly understand your frustration because i'm often in your situation with mp and always hunting for 'perfect cvs' ;-)
But you have to keep in mind: this is still under version 1.0 release... even not release but prerelease... and devs are working really hard to make mp more stable...
but, most important thing i wanted to say here is that some of your probs in post #1 of this thread are already being fixed in very latest cvs... ie, slow switching with ss2 (now around 2sec if you have ts on), autotune with ss2,... don't know why your xmltv isn't working because it's working here without probs...
there are still bugs in there, but as of now, tv part is perfectly functional and i'm really enjoying it... i think at least we 'ordinary users' can do for this 'free gift' app is to point out bugs we found and help devs to fix them so we can have benefit of this wonderfull app...
try to come to irc channel sometimes... there are lot of ppl with greater expirience in mp and really willing to help...
just be patient...

stai bene

Just to give you an idea.
Now I cant stop recording !!! :-))
I'm trying stopping manually, closing MP, switching off TV, nothing. When I restart MP or shwitching on TV, restart recording. :-))
really funny.

Ok I'll try reinstalling again from scratch.
