Hi,

i ripped all my DVD collection in full disc. I conserved the path (VIDEO_TS for ifo & vob files). I included and imported them in MyVideo.
When i play some of them, sound is very bad with some ticks and voices like in washing machine. I changed audio codec from MPA to ffdshow with no success.
The rip is good because i can play with WMP11 without any problem.
I would like to precise not all my ripped cds have this problem but most of them.

Any idea?

Regards
Fabien

You need to use graphedit to find out the filter being used by WMP and Mediaportal

Use the connect to remote graph and take a screen shot of the results with Video running in both when windowed.

Winsnap is great for Screenshots Download WinSnap Free (pre version 2 is free)

I use graphedit tool but no graph is edited. I mean when i play my ripped dvd under MP and i connect remote graph, i select the graph but no schema at all.
I did the same under WMP11 and it worse because it detects no graph.

When i open the vob files under grapedit, i have the following:

VTS_01_1.VOB ----> MPEG2 Demultiplexer : LPCM --------------> ffdshow Audio decoder ----------------> Default directsouns device
Video --------------> MPV Decoder filter ----------------> Video renderer

I configure DVD codec with ffdshow and i can see the tray icon while playing. In WMP11 it's the same. But sounds is bad under MP, good with WMP11
If i select MPA decoder, no ffdshow icon.

I found the problem. In DVD configuration, codec option, i set directsound to my soundcard and it sounds greats now!
Before i did not select directsound, just my soundcard. Strange, maybe a bug?

Do you mean the default was changed ie "use default directsound device" because changing this can cause problems.

If not then your sound drivers are not installed correctly, they should be registered as default in windows itself, so everything automatically uses them.

In fact my default audio device is the sound card embedded in my mobo. I use it for tv audio. I added a PCI pro sound card for playing my DVD/Music. Then i set it as audio output device in the DVD configuration. Audio was bad. After that, i set with directsound: my audio device, and everything is fine now.
I never used 'use default directsound device' option because i don't know what it is.

I can add that with ASIO enable, audio from pro card is strutered (some 'cracks'). Maybe it linked to.

Why i cannot set directly "Directsound: my device" ? It a non sense to force default directsound device.
I know this can cause problems because i have problem with DVD playing when i set directsound: Lynx 1. Ok it works if i change to default directsound device but i have to configure audio device in the control panel and now i have all windows souns to my pro sound card, i don't want this.
