Default Rule Based Post Processing

Is it possible to have rule based post processing?

Say I want ffdshow post processing turned on for files smaller or equal tp 1.4GB or resolution smaller x<1280 and y <720. And leave as is for anything that doesnt meet the above rule.

Its such a PITA to change between on and off for watching dvds and then HD's. If you forget and try post process a HD movie. media portal just hangs...

Thanks.

Absolutely!

You need to set up profiles in ffdshow configuration. Make sure you check "autoload profiles" checkbox also. Make sure you name each profile something recognizable. It has also been said that ffdshow goes in order, so my profiles are like so:

10 HD x264
20 DVD
30 AVI HQ
40 AVI LQ
50 TV

Each with different resize and settings depending on source. The easiest way to have it load for each file type is to use decoder presence and video size.

One more thing, while testing your rules, make sure you have the OSD on so you can make sure you aren't loading your LQ AVI settings for x264 files

I have two seperate avi profiles because I have some 4:3 content from a DV camera. That is the only thing I use the LQ avi profile for. So my rule for those just uses aspect ratio as a condition. The HQ profile gets loaded for all of my non standard ratios.

I do not remember a bitrate match under the profiles page. There are a ton of options though, I am sure you can find another that will work for you. Are you trying to scale differently compressed avis?
