| Portal Member | Hi, i wonder if anyone else tried this... Since a few days now, the Parallels Desktop trial 3.0 for OS X is available. This version now supports direct x 9.0. So far so good. I've tried to start mediaportal and this work. It looks a bit strange, as some images are not displayed correctly. And video playback does not work. The log says something about a VMR9 issue(no internet @ home atm, so cant post my logs soon). Does anyone else here - best would be a dev - have a mac available to try out MP with parallels and could check the issues? Ah, a small hint: i've executed DXDIAG. The directx test workt fine, but the DirectDraw test didnt work at all. Cheers, tom

Country: | Same over here! Today I tried VMWare Fusion too. Fusion didn't show even the basichome from MP :-( Very disappointing as this seems to be the only way on MAC to use MP. I asked in this forum a lot of time if somebody is able to develop a small application like MPTVClient for MAC. But I never got response. The only hope I have is, that Parallels and/or VMWare Fusion will increase their support for DirectX to get MP running. Cheers mpFrank |

Country: | IMO it will become more and more difficult to run MP within a virtual machine if the development will increase vista and DirectX 10 support :-( All I need is a small application to be able to watch TV on my MacBook Pro. The migration of complete MP is not necessary and sure it'll be more difficult than a small TV client. Regards mpFrank |
