Default Scheduled recording, start viewing before finished?

I just switched to Mediaportal (my first installation) from Dreambox (and several other solutions before that, e.g. VDR). My Mediaportal installation is working great (just took some time to find all information needed to get suspend, Power Scheduler, remote wakeup etc. to work) but I still have one problem that I haven’t been able to solve.

One of the best and by me most used functions in VDR or Dreambox is the ability to schedule recordings and start looking at them (from the beginning) while still recording. I guess that it should be possible with Mediaportal but the current recording is not listed under “Recorded TV” until the current scheduled recording is finished. This is pretty annoying since there is no way (I have found) to start looking at a recording until it is finished!

I have found at least one other user that had the same problem (by searching this forum) so I know that I am not alone. Anyone knows the reason for this behavior and if there is a “fix”?

Thanks in advance…

Hi,

you are searching at the wrong place.

Just go into the "Scheduled" section and hit OK on the entry of the current running recording. You will be asked, if you want to see it from the beginning.

Or just start My TV. Switch to the channel, where your recording runs and skip back (or rewind) to the beginning.

HTH,
Flip.

if you select the program in the TV guide you will also be asked if you want to view from live point or the start of the recording.

That doesn't work, this is a "repeat timer", I am only taken "down" in a folder like view of upcoming scheduled recordings if I hit OK on the entry (and nothing in the context menu).

This works, I am able to enter the channel and skip back to the beginning (and finally start watching from the beginning while still recording).

No, I am not getting that question (I am running 0.2.2.0, should I get that question or is it in a later CVS version?)...

Interesting. I haven't used the "repeat timer" that much. And in the list of upcoming scheduled recordings is the current recording not shown and / or marked with a red dot?

If so this should be changed. For single recordings it works like I described above.

Thanks for reporting back.

Flip.

I thought it was in the stable version, but I guess not. It's such a long time since I used it I don't remember...

So would I be better of running the latest CVS version?
