Default Shared database for video, music, etc.

Hi All,
There have been a few posts about this in the past, and a server setup may be the way to do it.
However, I would like to hear if there is another possibility.
I have 5 PCs in the house running MP. All have a network share to a NAS, where I have 1 TB of video, music, and pictures.
I would like to be able to have a database folder on the NAS, where all machines could use so that I only have to update it from one machine.
Is this possible?

I have read a post with a work around, where I would copy the database files and the thumbs.
All PCs are using the same drive letter for the mapping (U).
Is this the best work around?

Thanks for any input.

Regards,
Rick

nope, that about it for now. There is a restriction with SQLite databases where only one connection is allowed at a time otherwise the secondary clients receive locked error messages. I was think or writing a plugin for MP 1 where one database was selected as master and would export all information into the TVServer MSSQL/MySQL database, including thumbs. All other machines would be clients and then retrieve from the TV Server DB adn update the local files. There are limitations to this thought and am currently working on it.

No for the reasons specified by charli181. You cannot share the databases between clients apart from having 1 "master" and copying to all other clients.

I don't want to share the databases, only to change the path inside those databases...

You need a browser that can view and edit the sqlite database then. Do a quick search in google.

I found that on Sourceforge. It seems to do the trick.
