Country: | I love MediaPortal and have been using it for the past 3 months now as my primary HTPC software. I just have one small issue that maybe some one can help me with. So using SVN-Snapshot: 05-25-2007 01-02h - Revision:14699 HIP remote controll software My Keys plugin The setup: I have set up the computer to go to sleep and wake up from the MCE remote. When the computer wakes up MediaPortal is already running and with HIP I have made it so that when the computer comes out of stand by the buttons t & T will be pressed. With My Keys blugin installed this t & T will result in MediaPortal starting the TV in full screen( Which is great as in 13 seconds I have my TV running) With this scenario I am pleased with as I do dot have to select TV from the Menu every time the pc goes on. The problem: When a scheduled recording starts the computer will wake up and TV it will also go into fullscreen as it has no way of knowing was it me who pressed the power button or the scheduled wakeup from Powerscheduler. This will lead to the problem that the pc will not shutdown after the recording has finished and might be running for days if I am not at home. One way of resolving this is to use a program/plugin to force stand by after a timeperiod of 3 hours etc. but what about the possibility to set MediaPortal so that it would return to the home screen and end timeshifting after a recording is finished. Thanks for your ideas in advance and sorry for the long post ![]() |

Country: | Me thinks because the my keys plugin is set to start MP in TV mode that is where the problem lies, try disabling and see if MP starts in homescreen (no video running, but will record ok) and then goes back into standby after recording.

It does work if I don't use My Keys but the whole idea is that it would start in Full screen tv as that is what I do use MediaPortal mostly for. Sure it is a work around to just not go into My TV but its not favourable. | |

Country: | Another option might be to use PVR Scheduler? With PVR Scheduler, you have the option to launch batch, script or exe files when the PC wakes, and to have a different script launched depending upon if you woke the PC with the remote, or the PC woke itself to start a scheduled recording. You could then create scripts to achieve the startup/shutdown modes that you desire. PVR Scheduler can be configured to do lots of other clever things too - like put your PC to sleep after a defined period of inactivity .... ![]() |

Country: | Thanks Taipan I will look into this program. If indeed it can recognize the difference between remote controll wake up and scheduled wake up it would be just what I need. |
