When I come out of sleep (from choosing sleep in MP), I cant use both tuners (have a dual digital). I can hear the USB sound twice (like something is detected and then disconnected). I can watch TV but if I choose to record then I can only watch what Im recording, I cant use the other tuner.

I have tried different combinations of the tuners through the config, like record with one while watching with the other etc and it made no difference.

If I do a fresh restart all is fine. Both tuners work, recording and watching something else fine.

However after sleep, it wont work.

I tried the fusion software to see if the drivers were the issue, both tuners work after coming out of sleep in Fusion software. I also noticed that there were no usb sounds when coming out of sleep without MP.

So MP is trying to do something with the tuners when it comes out of sleep, like it tries to activate either one once again causing issues.

I come out of sleep mode by pressing the keyboard (Bios wont allow me to come out of sleep with a usb device so didnt worry about usb reciever etc)

Hibernate does the same thing.

Has anyone had similar problems? Could it be the card definitions file that I edited so that the dual digital would be detected. ?

Nope, it's the usb driver not initialising quickly enough, that's why quite a few of us use PVR-Scheduler (worth the 5 or more Euro's willing to donate) which allows MP to shutdown prior to standby and resume MP after the drivers have initiliased correctly.

This applies to quite a few USB TV cards including my Hauppauge T500.

Vista does not have this problem.

TVE3 with it's slightly different powerscheduler settings may be better, try it and see.

Thanks so much for the reply and valuable info. I have downloaded the scheduler and will give it a go tomorrow. Hope it works. If it does then MP is complete for me. Its a great program.

I just installed PVR Scheduler and a few issues.

It wont start mediaportal or resume. They say I might need to enable interaction with desktop of PVR Scheduler service but I cant find it.

Also the EPG is not showing in the PVR Scheduler plugin screen.

Also is there a way to join the mediaportal home screen sleep option with PVR Scheduler so that PVR scheduler would take over and shut MP down first. In its current state, if I choose sleep from the home screen Im faced with the same problem. If I want to do it the right way I have to go into Myplugins, select PVR Sch and then choose standbye. A little annoying.
