Default Soon ill give up!!

i think i have been configurating media portal for a year now. I have probably spent more time configurating and fault tracing then really using it. Now ive got a WinTV pvr 150 mce and of course it doesnt work either
Ive got all my channels configurated and everything seems okey but when i watch a channel its stuttering. When i try to record Media portal freeze. Im running 0.1.3.0 should i upgrade to 0.2.0? Everything is fine when i use WinTV 2000 (hauppauge program) but not in MP. If i dont get this to work ive probably have to leave MP for big brother XP MCE...
Im using intervideo codec and my hardware specs shouldnt be any prob.

Is there a guide or something to get this Tv capture card to work?

My System

Default

I just recommended MP to a friend and he installed it yesterday. He said it was very easy to set up and has all the features he was looking for. I have been using MP for around a year or so too. I never save any of my configuration and always install fresh from time to time. MP in my eyes is very easy to set up and get everything working within an hour. As for the shuddering, Something is wrong. I have a super old ATi TV wonder and it works just fine. I suggest posting your information on your PC and search the forums. Seems like I am always having questions, but 99% of the stuff can be solved just by reading…

Best of luck to you.

Well the hauppauge drivers can be a bit troublesome at times. Trying a different version might help a lot. Also do you have a fulle dx9 graphics card?

hmm maybe the graphic adapter could be a problem, i currently use a Geforce2 card which is not directX9 compatible. There is a ASUS FX 5200 on the way so this might do the trick. but why is everything working perfect with the hauppauge wintv2000 and not in MP? And the recording problems couldnt be the geforce2 problem or what do you think? As for the drivers im using the latest drivers, ive tried both the MCE and non MCE versions without any luck.

Hi sajberman,

With Hauppauge the latest drivers are not always the best.

Try looking on this site: www.shspvr.com. It is an un-offical support site for Hauppauge cards. You will be able to download older drivers there and also search the forum to see if anyone else is also having a problem.

Cheers,

/James

Hi,

and please post the support template. The PVR150 should work flawless on the most systems!

FlipGer,

Flawless and Hauppauge drivers are two words that should never be used in the same sentence togeather !

As a the "proud" owner of a 150MCE, I know the hell which is Hauppauge drivers. One only needs to read some of the posts on the fore given site.

Cheers,

/James

Try switching to VMR9 renderless.
Use Intervideo codecs for both Audio & Video.
(Search on the forum for DxVA & HWMC - turn those registry entries on)

For the Hauppauge MCE cards all you need is the drivers from the 2.7a MCE driver CD.
Don't install any of the other Hauppauge drivers and applications.
So remove them as they're redundant.

Hi,

I can understand your frustration, offcourse MP is still beta software
and therefore contains bugs. This can be frustrating
The mediaportal team recognized this problem and instead of
adding more & more feature, we are focused on stability and fixing bugs
at the moment.
So I would advise you to try the final 2.0 release when its released
The reason 2.0 is delayed, is because we want to make a stable
version which should work perfect. Offcourse no software is bugfree
but you should see a major stability improvement for 2.0

When will 2.0 be ready?
To be honest, its a wild guess, but i hope for january

Regards

Frodo
