Hi!

I am slightly annoyed about the speed that the menus (like the startup menu) scroll when using them with a mouse, makes it rather impossible to stop at a suitable spot.

Is there a way to adjust that scrolling speed?

I would also prefer it if all the items visible would be clickable, instead it scrolls (too fast) if one tries to click anything else than the one in the middle. So perhaps an option for a scroll bar etc would be nice. Is there a way to make it more pleasing to use with a mouse, or am I just missing a setting somewhere?

The stability issue emerges when trying to close Media Portal GUI at least when using it with timeshifting enabled. Need to check into this more carefully before making any conclusions though. It just refuses to close to tray, and stays on top and virtually nothing works. If I am lucky I might hit the correct spot at the sometimes flashing tray when this happens and be able to close it. But I am not the only one using the media center, so it would be nice to be able to fix this issue some other way than that.

Thanks.

PS. The remote works only partially, I might try to see if I have better luck with a logitech harmony remote that is currently sitting dusting in my closet. Is there any suggestions on configuration? Maybe try to see if there is a ready-made set for one of the supported remotes, like MCE remote?

MP just froze on me. Log has the following error:

2007-01-07 15:49:57.593750 [ERROR][6]: DVBGraphBDA:CreateGraph() FAILED capture filter not found

Note that recording, timeshifting etc was not enabled during that error.

Any ideas how to fix?

I get this error in the error logs quite often.

Have you applied all the Microsoft patches listed in "Tips and Tricks", in particular the "Multi-DVB tuner patch"?

I'll try that today when I get back home.

About the stability issue that happens when closing MP: It seems (though not 100% sure) that the issue is NOT there when I disable using exclusive directx. That on the other hand causes tearing of videos, but I hope it helps in troubleshooting.

The issue is, that when exiting fullscreen mode, MP does not close, but does not accept any commands either. Pressing winkey gets my mouse visible in the area where start menu and taskbar should be, but I am still not able to do anything. Sometimes, if I am lucky enough, I might just hit the correct button in systray to resume fullscreen operation of MP, but I am not able to close it.

I also tried to install the latest SVN build, but it causes errors when trying to launch, event viewer had some errors about .NET Framework. Unfortunately I did not have time to check anything, and it would have been quite difficult to google around for it anyway since my internet connection at home is down at the moment.

Did a bit more troubleshooting back at home...

The issue happens every time if I close MediaPortal while a video is running. It does not matter wether it is TV or DVD or a videofile from my hard disk.

The issue never occurs if no video is running.

So I can get around it by stopping the video from playing before closing MediaPortal.

Note that I have set it to minimize to tray instead of closing completely. I did not remember to try wether this setting has an effect on the issue. I'll try that when I get back home.

I hope this helps in troubleshooting.

PS. For some strange reason the SVN-build I installed did work now, with no changes to anything. The issue happens with the SVN-build also. The build is from Monday.

I totally agree with you on this. In the past you could slow down scrolling speed with a frame per second setting under the scrolling speed section. This setting now seems to do nothing and the scrolling speed is so high that using a remote that emulates a mouse to control MP is impossible .
