Static noise while changing tv channels

Video Card: nvidia fx5200

Video Codec Type & Version: intervideo
Audio Codec Type & Version: intervideo
TV Card: Phillips
TV Card Type: dunno
TV Card Driver: driver that came with it
Synopsis:

I get a quick static noise while channel surfing on my media pc.

I noticed when I run the software that came with the card (win dvr) I dont get this, its only in media portal.

My tv tuner card is some cheapie off ebay, dont even think it has a name brand, uses the some phillips shipset best i can tell. If you need more specs im sure I can dig them up.

Hi,

i think you have a software based card. This problem was already mentioned quite some time a go. You should consider to go for a HW based card (PVR series), since MP will not support software based cards in the near future anymore.

Try searching, you may find a solution to your problem. I am sorry, i don't have more help at this time... :?
