that might be the problem so I uninstalled sp3 and went back to sp2. There might be some I am doing wrong

window, then I follow the steps, the "save dvd" then the error.

Thanks
I have no idea what could be the reason for the crash. What version of PGCedit are you using (I'm using 8.6) and I never encountered any crashes so far. Maybe the ifos or the vobs are corrupt. What software did you use for copying from DVD? Try to copy your files again via DVDShr... or DVDFAB....

I'm also having the issue where subtitles are always on by default.

If I go into the menu and turn them off, then they go off, but by default they are always on.

I am using PDVD 8 codecs. Changing them really isnt an option. Is this a MP bug? Can we force the default to be "Subtitles Off" so theres no need to chose it each time a film starts?

seems if you change the DVD Navigator then it fixes the issue. see: MP shows subtitles on DVDs

So changing it from Cyberlink Navigator to DVD Navigator does the job. I have left the othercodecs as the PDVD 8 ones (even though it warns me not to!)
