Default Which SVN Build (x2 Daily?)

I realise this may have been asked before, but I can find no reference to this question either in the faq or the forums.....

I like to download the latest SVN build to take advantage of fixes / improvements etc, however Im always confused as to which one to download? I note that every day there are x2 rar files which are labelled differently? Whats the difference between these x2 files? Can someone explain......

Hi,

nightly SVN builds are automatically created at ~1:00.

SVNs with another timestamp are pushed manually by a DEV to let the test team directly check a certain fix.

HTH, Flip.

OK...so let me see if I understand you here..... files with the naming convention.....

2006--01-01.rar

..... have been checked by the 'test team'
any other files names may contain newer fixes, but have yet to be tested? Correct?

No, all SVN releases are released as is, they are not tested. Developers can create builds other than the standard nightly build if theyve made a fix they want people from the test team to test.

Anyway, each new svn build is expected to be better than the previous... How could that be different .
In some case , new features or fixes may introduce new issues.
So when such a case occurs, better is to rollback to previous releases...waiting for a new fixed release.
As said before, they are released as it.
MP testers may have tested them for a special issue.. or not...
You're free to choose using them or not. Using them and reporting issues help MP developpers to fix them.
Only candidate releases (RC) are fully tested and supposed to be stable.
That doesn't mean you won't find a svn with a better stability and more features.
Hope this will help you in your choices.
