Default SVT-HD with Twinhan DVB-T card?

Hello everyone,

I've tried to get MP to display the new SVT-HD channel distributed as DVB-T. When I scan it finds the channel but I get nothing but a black screen when I try to view.

I have the BDA-drivers v1.2.3.8 (the latest available on Twinhan webpage).

My card is the internal Ter-CI card from Twinhan. I believe it is called 3040.

Anyone else had some success doing this?

/Peter

Default

Hello again!

Finally late last night I got this working :-) The trick was the combination of several things...

1. Update the dvbt.xml file to include the 6th mux for the Stockholm area. It is on 730MHz. This s not very well advertised and it took me a while to figure out where SVT-HD is hidden...

Now you should get a lock on two new channels, TV Finland and SVT-HD, but with the old engine you get no video/audio.

2. Install TV3Engine as the old engine does not support HDTV it seems. Also install the client.

3. Install some h264 decoder, I use the one from Cyberlink PowerDVD7.

4. Configure to use the PowerDVD SP/Video codec for TV and the h264 codec for h264 content. I use AC3Filter with SPDIF pass-through to get the 5.1 audio.

When you have scanned you can now try to "Preview" and you should see some video and audio. You can also try streaming to VLC, see another thread in this forum how to set up.

5. Configure MP to use the TV3Engine and you should be ready to rock.

With this combination of h264 and video codec the frame rate is OK, with only occasional "stuttering". When I used the AVC and Nero Video codec I got considerable frame losses and the channel was not viewable.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reply or IM me. I'm not an expert on this subject but I am persistent and it finally paid off ;-)

Good luck!

/Peter
