Country: | Does your monitor\tv work by remote. If standard monitor, it should shutdown into standby along with windows, downside with this, the chances are it will come back on for recordings\any updates epg etc.

Country: | Its a standard monitor without any remote. I don't want to wait until windows will shoutdown the monitor for me. For example I'm lying in my bed and want to sleep after watching tv, so I want to press a button, so the monitor goes to standby. In linux (mythTV) it was no problem. |

Country: | from what I've read you can send a windows message that will put the monitor into standby, off or back on again... CodeProject: Complete guide on How to turn a monitor on/off/standby. Free source code and programming help You can send windows messages with the IR Server Suite, or you could do it with Girder or HIP or EventGhost... I'm looking at adding this as a special command into IR Server Suite, specifically for changing the monitors power state. Hope that helps,

Country: | It would be great if you integrate it. Sorry, but is the "IR Server Suite" the part of MP that handles the remote-functions, or is it a plugin? At the moment I'm doing it exactly in this way. I wrote a little tool that receives my X10-commands and sends the SC_MONITORPOWER message. To achieve a toggle-button (Monitor ON/OFF) you can: EnumDisplayMonitors GetDevicePowerState I have not tried it yet, but it should work. Last edited by mts; 2008-03-09 at 13:02. |

Country: | I can tell you that it wont be added directly into MediaPortal (at least not during the feature freeze), but it's certainly something we could add to MediaPortal 2. And as I said, I'll try to add it to my IR software (which has support for X10 devices too )Cheers,
