Since I am unable to get HW acceleration to work under RC1 I have to stick with 0.2.3 (#18584) right now, where most things work just fine, even HD channels. However I experience a nasty problem sometimes, when switching from or to an HD channel. MediaPortal will just hang up then, where it stays fully unresponsive (even the window in windowed mode) and no video is shown. I appended the debug information of the MP Test Tool. The thing I notice in the MediaPortal.log: after switching from ASTRA HD+ to SAT.1 (where the hang happens) it says
Code:
2008-05-02 13:25:13.859375 [Info.][MPMain]: TVHome.ViewChannelAndCheck(): View channel=SAT.1

2008-05-02 13:25:15.640625 [Info.][MPMain]: Pins Video and Video In do not accept each other. Tested 1 media types
2008-05-02 13:25:15.640625 [Info.][MPMain]: Graph needs a rebuild
and then endlessly goes on with
Code:
2008-05-02 13:25:16.093750 [Info.][MPMain]: GetState failed: 40237
2008-05-02 13:25:16.093750 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged(): Graph not yet stopped, waiting some more.
2008-05-02 13:25:16.390625 [Info.][MPMain]: GetState failed: 40237
2008-05-02 13:25:16.390625 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged(): Graph not yet stopped, waiting some more.
etc.
So it seems after switching from or to the HD channel, where a different graph needs to be built, the old graph is not properly stopped and so the new one can't be build up and MediaPortal waits endlessly until the old graph has been stopped.

(I guess if it is a problem within MP, i will be stuck with this problem for now, unless I can get HW acceleration to run under RC 1.)

Please remember that devs arent going to provide any patches or fixes for the old versions so better to try to solve the HW acceleration issue under RC1.

Yes, I realize that. I reported it just in case you see something in the logs or so, that could still be an issue in RC1.

Currently I am at a dead end with the HW acceleration issue in RC1 (since the exact same settings and exact same graph doesn't work in RC1) and I don't really know what to do now.

I didn't test it yet on the freshly installed and configured HTPC (with RC1), but I assembled a server <-> client test system today and just experienced the same problem, simply by switching from one SD channel to another. MediaPortal on the client PC simply stopped responding and the MediaPortal.log reveals, that after/on switching to that channel

The same thing just happened again, but prior to that another weird problem occured (maybe it's related). I started with watching the channel "SAT.1", after some time I switched to "ProSieben". But the video from ProSieben was only shown frame by frame (one frame every second), so I turned TV off and on again to fix that. This is the log entry for this first, unsuccessful channel switch:
Code:

Gah! It seems the Audio Renderer is the culprit again. I set it to the PowerDVD one, instead of Default Direct Sound Device. I know that a couple of problems are caused by setting the Audio Renderer to something different than the Default Direct Sound Device, but I simply didn't think of that here. :bash:

I am not yet 100% sure, but after switching back to Default Direct Sound Device, I made lots of channel switches in MP and no hang up occured. Then I switched back to the PowerDVD Audio Renderer and got a hang up right at the second channel switch.

I certainly hope this is solved now and I also hope that the Audio Renderer is the cause for this on my designated HTPC (with single seat setup) too
