However I experience a nasty problem sometimes, when switching from or to an HD channel. MediaPortal will just hang up then, where it stays fully unresponsive (even the window in windowed mode) and no video is shown. I appended the debug information of the MP Test Tool. The thing I notice in the MediaPortal.log: after switching from ASTRA HD+ to SAT.1 (where the hang happens) it says Code: 2008-05-02 13:25:13.859375 [Info.][MPMain]: TVHome.ViewChannelAndCheck(): View channel=SAT.1 2008-05-02 13:25:13.890625 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Pause graph 2008-05-02 13:25:15.437500 [Info.][MPMain]: tvhome:SeektoEnd(True) 2008-05-02 13:25:15.437500 [Debug][MPMain]: g_Player.SeekAbsolute() - Preparing to seek to 0:0:34 2008-05-02 13:25:15.437500 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer:seekabs:346360000 start:210000 end:346360000 2008-05-02 13:25:15.546875 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer seek done:0 2008-05-02 13:25:15.546875 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer: current pos:34,615 dur:34,615 2008-05-02 13:25:15.546875 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Continue graph 2008-05-02 13:25:15.546875 [Info.][MPMain]: succeeded:Succeeded TvControl.VirtualCard 2008-05-02 13:25:15.546875 [Debug][MPMain]: TVHome.OnSelecChannel(): Total Time 5257 ms 2008-05-02 13:25:15.640625 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged() 2008-05-02 13:25:15.640625 [Info.][MPMain]: Pins Video and Video In do not accept each other. | Please remember that devs arent going to provide any patches or fixes for the old versions so better to try to solve the HW acceleration issue under RC1.

Country: | Yes, I realize that. I reported it just in case you see something in the logs or so, that could still be an issue in RC1. Currently I am at a dead end with the HW acceleration issue in RC1 (since the exact same settings and exact same graph doesn't work in RC1) and I don't really know what to do now.

Country: | I didn't test it yet on the freshly installed and configured HTPC (with RC1), but I assembled a server <-> client test system today and just experienced the same problem, simply by switching from one SD channel to another. MediaPortal on the client PC simply stopped responding and the MediaPortal.log reveals, that after/on switching to that channel Code: 2008-05-22 18:24:39.650594 [Info.][MPMain]: TVHome.ViewChannelAndCheck(): View channel=RTL Television 2008-05-22 18:24:39.709594 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Pause graph 2008-05-22 18:24:41.307594 [Info.][MPMain]: tvhome:SeektoEnd(True) 2008-05-22 18:24:41.317594 [Info.][MPMain]: tvhome:SeektoEnd(33,563/36) 2008-05-22 18:24:41.323594 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer:seekabs:460000000 start:0 end:360000000 2008-05-22 18:24:42.188594 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer seek done:0 2008-05-22 18:24:42.190594 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer: current pos:46 dur:37 2008-05-22 18:24:42.195594 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Continue graph 2008-05-22 18:24:42.197594 [Info.][MPMain]: succeeded:Succeeded TvControl.VirtualCard 2008-05-22 18:24:42.333594 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged() 2008-05-22 18:24:42.343594 [Info.][MPMain]: Graph doesn't need a rebuild Code: 2008-05-22 18:25:57.437594 [Info.][MPMain]: GetState failed: 40237 2008-05-22 18:25:57.439594 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged(): Graph not yet stopped, waiting some more. Country: | The same thing just happened again, but prior to that another weird problem occured (maybe it's related). I started with watching the channel "SAT.1", after some time I switched to "ProSieben". But the video from ProSieben was only shown frame by frame (one frame every second), so I turned TV off and on again to fix that. This is the log entry for this first, unsuccessful channel switch: Code: 2008-05-22 18:37:25.719994 [Info.][MPMain]: TVHome.ViewChannelAndCheck(): View channel=ProSieben 2008-05-22 18:37:25.795994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Pause graph 2008-05-22 18:37:26.712994 [Info.][MPMain]: tvhome:SeektoEnd(True) 2008-05-22 18:37:26.721994 [Info.][MPMain]: tvhome:SeektoEnd(207,62/213) 2008-05-22 18:37:26.727994 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer:seekabs:2230000000 start:0 end:2130000000 2008-05-22 18:37:27.609994 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer seek done:0 2008-05-22 18:37:27.610994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer: current pos:223 dur:214 2008-05-22 18:37:27.616994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Continue graph 2008-05-22 18:37:27.618994 [Info.][MPMain]: succeeded:Succeeded TvControl.VirtualCard 2008-05-22 18:37:28.110994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnRequestAudioChange() 2008-05-22 18:37:28.112994 [Info.][MPMain]: Audio stream: switching to preferred MPEG audio stream 0, NOT based on LANG (none avail. matching ) 2008-05-22 18:37:32.232994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:0 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:37:32.241994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:1 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:37:33.284994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:0 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:37:33.298994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:1 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:37:34.398994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:0 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:37:34.405994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:1 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:37:35.638994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:0 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:37:35.640994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:1 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 ... ... it goes on and on like this until i finally turn the tv off ... 2008-05-22 18:38:02.184994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:0 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:38:02.189994 [Info.][12]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:1 enabled:True allowed:False 720x576 2008-05-22 18:38:02.834994 [Info.][MPMain]: TVHome:turn tv off Code: 2008-05-22 18:44:52.750994 [Info.][MPMain]: TVHome.ViewChannelAndCheck(): View channel=GoTV 2008-05-22 18:44:52.798994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Pause graph 2008-05-22 18:44:54.443994 [Info.][MPMain]: tvhome:SeektoEnd(True) 2008-05-22 18:44:54.452994 [Info.][MPMain]: tvhome:SeektoEnd(395,995/400) 2008-05-22 18:44:54.454994 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer:seekabs:4100000000 start:0 end:4000000000 2008-05-22 18:44:55.312994 [Info.][MPMain]: TsReaderPlayer seek done:0 2008-05-22 18:44:55.314994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer: current pos:410 dur:400 2008-05-22 18:44:55.319994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:Continue graph 2008-05-22 18:44:55.320994 [Info.][MPMain]: succeeded:Succeeded TvControl.VirtualCard 2008-05-22 18:44:55.652994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged() 2008-05-22 18:44:55.662994 [Info.][MPMain]: Graph doesn't need a rebuild 2008-05-22 18:44:56.068994 [Info.][MPMain]: GetState failed: 40237 2008-05-22 18:44:56.070994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged(): Graph not yet stopped, waiting some more. 2008-05-22 18:44:56.371994 [Info.][MPMain]: GetState failed: 40237 2008-05-22 18:44:56.373994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged(): Graph not yet stopped, waiting some more. 2008-05-22 18:44:56.674994 [Info.][MPMain]: GetState failed: 40237 2008-05-22 18:44:56.676994 [Info.][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:OnMediaTypeChanged(): Graph not yet stopped, waiting some more. 2008-05-22 18:44:56.977994 [Info.][MPMain]: GetState failed: 40237 ... ... etc.

Country: | Gah! It seems the Audio Renderer is the culprit again. I set it to the PowerDVD one, instead of Default Direct Sound Device. I know that a couple of problems are caused by setting the Audio Renderer to something different than the Default Direct Sound Device, but I simply didn't think of that here. :bash: I am not yet 100% sure, but after switching back to Default Direct Sound Device, I made lots of channel switches in MP and no hang up occured. Then I switched back to the PowerDVD Audio Renderer and got a hang up right at the second channel switch. I certainly hope this is solved now and I also hope that the Audio Renderer is the cause for this on my designated HTPC (with single seat setup) too ![]()
