MP appears to operate well in most respects. However, when viewing any digital channel, after a variable period of time of less than an hour, the Picture freezes and the PC will not respond to any input apart from a hard reset. If I use the analogue part of the card only, this problem does not occur.
I have spent a large amount of time trying to resolve this problem by searching the forum and I have now run out of ideas.
The card will run for long periods of time with the Hauppauge software and this freeze does not occur indicating the TV card is not at fault
I do have the other logs which were produced at the same time as this one if they are required.

Perhaps, you have noticed that when the picture freezes, if you leave it in this state, without pressing any key, or trying anything, Then after a few minutes, the show continue ...

Another problem that occurs with tv from time to time : changing channel, doesn't really change the channel ...

Will post system configuration. Did you write your nicely formatted system summary manually or is there a tool that will create it automatically?

I have noticed that my system freezes also on analog TV watching or recorded tv playback (from analog source), so it might not be strictly a HVR-1300 related problem.

Do you guys use the analogue part of th 1300 card? I have one of these cards, but I never use the analogue part of the card and I've not had any problems with freezing etc. However I do have a bunch of fixes applied to my system (like the patch to allow multiple dvb cards). I have also got all of the drivers for the 1300 remote control disabled since I saw some comments on some other forum that said that these can cause a freeze (and I don't use the 1300 remote I have a ms mce remote and keyboard).

Out of interest have you found anyway of stopping mp from trying to use both halves of the card at the same time? That was the reason I stopped using the analogue tuner....

Did you try changing the MPEG codec to MPV?

I had a strange problem with HVR-1300, switching between two specific channels resulted in what you describe and fast-forward/rewind was very poor (just a few frames displayed, not always in correct order).

With MPV I no longer see these problems, even if the quality of the InterVideo coded seemed better.

I am experiencing the same thing. After watching TV for a short while MP freezes and you can not do anything but power cycle the machine. Currently I am using an HVR-1600 with the PureVideo codec from NVidia. I will try this evening to use the MPV decoder and post my results.

BTW, I am using the S-Video in on the HVR-1600.

I have a HVR-1300 and found that the IR drivers do not work correctly with a hypre-threading or multi-core CPU. My PC was freezing after a few minutes (maybe worked for upto 1 hour) but always froze. I disabled hyper-threading in the BIOS and no more freezing.
I firstly thought the problem was with IR32.exe that comes as part of the HVR-1300 software bundle; so stopped this but it's worse cause it's the actual IR drivers.
I've been using the latest software release from Hauppauge (version 3.4b) but the drivers are still causing problems in that release - so only fix I could find was to disable hyper-threading.

I have the same problem with my Hauppauge Nova-T PCI card. Also I only have a single core processor. So I'm not using hyperthreading. MP freezes every 15min or so and the audio quite often goes out of sync.
Any suggestions?
