Default IS there a HOW TO on a/v capture via firewire?

Hi ALL...

I came across some hardware that converts component video to sdi using a 1394 connect or firewire. So it may be possible to actually record hdtv directly from a stb and not be limited to ota signals. Note my stb does not offer firewire, but dows offer component out.

OK so I have audio + video on a firewire connect, what's next?

A firewire port naturally- any suggestions and then what?

Can MP use firewire to capture (record) live av?

tia
