Default Those annoying ".JPGs" created in TV Recordings...

I noticed that somewhere during the last few months, a change was made to the MY TV part of MediaPortal such that it now displays a JPG of the first frame of a recorded program, when it is listed in "Recorded TV". Previously, the TV station's logo was displayed against the recorded show's listing.

Like most people, I always start scheduled recordings ahead of the advertised time (currently 5 minutes), so the first frame of the recorded file has nothing to do with the actual program. Hence, displaying a JPG of that first frame is pretty useless.

I have also noticed that when these recorded TV shows are deleted (by selecting the program and pressing "0"), the JPG is not deleted along with its associated DVR-MS file - thus a whole bunch of JPGs accumulate in the recorded TV folder.

Does anyone know how I can disable this function (of automatically creating JPGs of the first frame of the recording)... :?

Dont know a way but it would be good if they were cleaned up with deletion.

Im not sure if they are the first frame though as all of my recordings start 5 minutes ahead (10mins if you count overlap) and I still get frames from the show.

Yes, you might be right - the images are so small that I couldn't really tell what they were, so I assumed they were the first frame..... :?

Anyway, I would still like to be able to turn this "feature" off.....

Hi guys,

what SVN are you using. I have one of the latest ones but have no preview thumbnail or something like that?
I even haven't got any .jpg in my recordings folder?
Can you post a screenshot, please?

Never even heard of this feature? Though I would like to use it.

Regards
Ralph

I am also wondering what SVN file this is in... I really don't care for it becuase of my tv I wouldn't be able to see it anyway. I am running SVN mediaportal-svn-06-07-2006--20-06.rar, which is very recent.

Hi,

As I don't see it here either with my PVR500MCE, I suspect this is a DVB-only feature/annoyance (choose whichever applies).

Kind regards,
Michel

This was added quite a while ago by Frodo. I have also been frustrated by the fact that the jpg's remain long after their show has been deleted.

Maybe it's a conspiracy and only affects Australians?

I guess not

Using DVB-S via Skystar2 I'm getting the pictures as well.

Sure, here it is...

Notice the little dark images where the station's logo would normally be?

Well, that's my point - I don't find it to be useful at all - I would much prefer the station's logo to be displayed. But, even worse, these JPGs are not deleted when the associated DVR-MS files are deleted...

I've just fixed this - will be included in the next public svn build ;-)
