Not any harder I guess, its just that logic tells you that if you want to stop watching TV you'd press stop.. it doesn't occur to most people that you have to 'back out' of the fullscreen tv first - at least nobody thats picked up the remote for my HTPC anyway :p

Swifty,

I can't see any reason why, in the input mappings for your remote, you couldn't have one mapping for the "stop" button when full-screen TV is playing (that goes back one screen), then another "No Condition" mapping that actually performs the "Stop" action. The should work, shouldn't it?

Cheers,
Craig

p.s. a nice enhancement to MP would be the ability to map multiple, sequential "actions" to a single remote button, but I'm guessing that would be a fairly significant change ......

Hi wolfi_b,

Can you elaborate on this - mainly which single button do you press (or specifically which "action" is performed) from fullscreen live TV to be ready for standby?

Thanks,
Craig

p.s. I take it by "pvrscheduler plugins" you actually mean "powerscheduler plugins"?

Sorry, yes i ment powerscheduler plugins: TV-Server/Configuration/Plugins/PowerScheduler - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation
Since the configuration of the plugins standby works with one clich on the PC-Power-Button on the MCE V2 Remote when watching fullscreen live-tv.

Hi wolfi_b,

What does that one click actually do to MediaPortal? Does it close MediaPortal down - then you have MediaPortal set to restart on resume from standby? Or does it do something different?

Cheers,
Craig

No, it only exits live-tv and then the pc enteres standby. When i press the button again then the pc wakes up and MP is in home-screen (no MP restart).
It works like a charm, i was really surprised after configuring powerscheduler.

In my setup, I use pvrscheduler (http://www.pvr-scheduler.de) instead of the MP powerscheduler plugin. It's much more flexible and has some great features, including the ability to wake/sleep independently of whether or not MP is running (naturally, it talks to MP for recording schedules, EPG, etc.)

One solution for you could be that you install pvrscheduler, and then map a remote button that closes down the MP client. Your machine will then go to sleep (standby or hibernate) by itself. You can specify that MP be launched on wake, thus taking you automatically to the homescreen.

Anyway, one possible solution.

Good luck!

Rob.
