UPDATE Disabling crossfire Hybrid leads to expected behavior(ie it doesn't crash) I gues it can be traced back to the onboard HD2300 thats part of the 780G chip

Just saw a new SVN build fly by gonna try it in the mean time.

Edit: attached logs, I would also attach the windows report but the mem-dump is 16 mb

just installed mediaportal on my laptop (Win xp MCE) and the TV server seems to work just fine.
There seem to be a lot of parrallels with MP TV crashes my pc

While this works as a workaround I really want to be able to take advantage of the hybrid crossfire as the onboard makes less power also for other tasks where I need the extra horsepower switching crossfire on and off will be quite annoying.

From every post that comes up stating MP has crashed my pc, it has always gone back to drivers\codecs being the cause, so if your system is clean with filmerit (link below), then one of your drivers (usually video\audio) is having a argument with DirectX.
Check for any updates for BIOS\drivers from your manufacturer.

I'm running the same MB, all latest drivers and MP bluescreens my PC when I switch the TV on. Where did you disabled the hybrid crossfire, in the BIOS? I'm using the onboard GFX only so I won't need crossfire for a while...

In the catalist control center but disabling crossfire only causes the ATI HD3470 (in pci) to run dedicated (in other words the onboard card is completely disabled.)

if you only have onboard then your in a pickle, you could try downloading older catalist drivers to see if that makes a change.

Even though it seems mediaportal's support stance is that since it is the driver crashing it's not there problem (probably rightly so) it is odd that other programs for as far as I can tell function normally with the driver. Perhaps media portal uses calls to uncommon functions. I'm not going to debug it myself(wel not in the near future) as C# isn't my language of choice and I'm short on time as it is.

I know a lot of ppl building a htpc right now select the gigabyte for there build so we can only expect more ppl with this problem showing up.

atisnz: it might help if you also post your Mediaportal logs.
