| Test Group Member | Lately the calls for help regarding playback of .mkv-files are catching in quite often, so I decided to make a short tutorial/FAQ. There are probably many other ways to get it going, I simply post the one I have used. If you have any additions/problems with this setup, please reply to the topic so I can edit this first post to always have the best solution on the first post. Here we go: Requirements
Installation
Configuration
Result .mkv's will work in MP ![]() Credits Credits go to tontsa, ronilse and ParanoidDelusion!

| Portal Member | i have test it. i use PowerDVD Codec for 264 in myMovies, select FFDSHOW RAW as Postprocessor and i disable hw acc unter DX. if i play a MKV Movie, i become a black screen. CoreAVC works, but no chance with PowerDVD. i use PowerDVD 7 Ultra with the latest Patch from Cyberlink.

| Does those .mkvs contain subtitles? If yes then enable the auto load of vobsub in the haali settings.
