TV fails on 1st try, works on 2nd - PVR150

Synopsis::

In the recent CVS versions, the TV does not start in MYTV - if you then try to return to the main menu, there is a 10-20 sec delay, and when you try again (going into MYTV) it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't... When it fails (on the 2nd try) MP can crash with DirectShowLib errors (although not always).

0.2 RC1 and RC2 works well - problem occur with CVS versions in the past month... Tried different codecs, newest ATI drivers etc... without any change.

Any suggestions on how to dig deeper?

I completely un-installed everything (deleted my MP directory), then installed RC2 - TV etc... works great.

I then tried a newer CVS version (mediaportal-cvs-02-25-2006--23-42), ran start.bat etc... and then TV fails again. Seems all CVS versions in the last month or so do not work with the PVR150?

I generally ignore errors when testing CVS versions, however all CVS versions in the last month has had these problems and I am worried that the formal 0.2 release will not have these things fixed... What testing etc... can I do to help track down the problem and fix this?

Hi,

I had also a lot of trouble with the last CVS and an update of my PVR150 drivers.

First of all, you sould check this topic, it appears that some PVR 150 drivers are crappy...

Today, My MP TV module is working except if try to record, time shift or I quit MP in WXP. In that case, I have to fully reboot my HTPC.... other wise the TV image is very bad and unsharp...

Thanks for the tip - I went back and tried the 23258 driver (hcwclear etc...). Both versions of the driver have the same problem.

After digging a little deeper - the first time I go into TV, nothing happens for 18 seconds (which I impatiently assumed was a failure). If you are patient enough, the TV mode will start - check out the .log section below (TV mode started at about 3:25:58).

There is a 16 second delay after "PM mpeg2:found MPEG2 demuxer input pin" and before "mpeg2:MPEG2 demuxer map MPG stream 0xe0->video output pin".


I have disabled other events which were happening at about the same time (winlirc, usbuirt etc... with no effect).


Any ideas what could be causing the delay in the initial entry into TV? Is anyone else seeing this delay?

I want to note that I'm also experiencing the same issue with my PVR-150. It was working well with RC2 but got a CVS last week and now it takes what seems like forever for TV to initialize., but then it works great.
