Synopsis: While adding the TV card the message "unable to create a graph for this device!!" appears. When attempting to perform auto tune the message "This device does not support auto tuning appears"

While adding the TV card the message "unable to create a graph for this device!!" appears. When attempting to perform auto tune the message "This device does not support auto tuning appears".

I have been searching desperately through the forums for a resolution to this, I understand the Ultraview is a rebadged Divco/Fusion card so I have tried many of the tips offered for that card also.

First of all, I tried Media portal RC2 as well as Media Portal 1.3 with both the Ultraview HDTV3.2 drivers as well as the HDTV 3 beta 3 drivers. Thats 4 combinations of MP/Driver all up. This doesn't resolve the problem.

I have checked my capturecarddefinitions.xml filter names against the descriptions provided in graphedit, these are all correct.
I have tried both sets of pin configurations in the capturecarddefinitions.xml as suggested by DMAN
These are:

Still no luck.

I installed the DNTV Live trial version as suggested by some in the hope that it would install some filters/decoders that I could use in MP. No tuners are detected in DNTV. The ultraview HDTV software that came with the card does not appear to work either. When it scans for channels it gives the error "Cannot source filter to InfTee filter failed". The ultraviewhdtvtray gives the error message "unknown" whenever it loads up.

In device manager all 5 Ultraview HDTV devices are in there and appear to be functioning correctly. No exclamation marks or anything next to them. I'll list them here.

UltraView 88x, BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod (T7579+MT352)
BDA Receiver Component (DVB-T)
WDM Crossbar
WDM DVB-T Tv Tuner (T7579+MT352)
WDM Video Capture (PAL)

The log error message is : "Failed to connect samplegrabber filter->mpeg2 demultiplexer"
How do I go about changing the samplegrabber filter it is using or the mpeg2 demultiplexer so that it may be able to connect these two? What are the possible reasons for this failing? I only recently got this ultraview card and have not yet managed to see it work. I have heard good things about MP and would really love to get this up and running, other people seem to be having success with this card on this forum.

If people think it would help I am quite happy to try a full reinstall of windows.

Well just to follow up a bit here, I managed to get AutoTune working and able to watch tv by installing Windows XP MCE. Just for the heck of it i thought I'd try out an old ATI card to see how the TV out worked. Once I finished testing out the ATI card, I plugged the 6600GT back in and tried out MP and I got the same error as in my last post again. I'm not 100% sure it was the ATI drivers that caused this as I didn't try MP before, during and after I installed my ATI card. Unfortunately nothing I can now do removes the error. I don't have a system restore point early enough and uninstalling all my apps doesn't seem to do the trick. I guess I'll reinstall windows again and then not mess around with it.

Well just to cap this off, i got mediaportal working fairly stable by switching back to version 0.1.3. The issue didn't appear to be with any external software but with the Mediaportal TV database files. I found that everytime I got the "This card does not support auto tune" message I could delete the tv database and then go back into MP and auto tune. I could then watch tv for a little while but after going in and out of the guide a few times the TV would just go black and stay black. Deleting the tv database file would fix it up again. Anyhow, 0.1.3 doesn't seem to have this problem and I can finally watch all (5 aussie) channels and record and everything! MP's looking great, can't wait for the next version to see what goodies are in it!
