| Area: Media Portal Program MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.4 (2006-08-11) MediaPortal Skin: Gate Windows Version: Windows XP (SP2) .NET CLR Version: 2.0.50727 DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904 (9.0c) Audio Codec: MPA Decoder Filter Video Codec: NVIDIA Video Decoder CPU Type: Intel Pentium M 1.73GHz Memory: 511 MB Motherboard: i845GV-W83627 TV Card Model: Hauppauge PVR500MCE TV Card Type: - TV Card Driver: 2.0.43.24103 Video Card Model: Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 (128 MB) Video Card Driver: 8.1.9.8 Video Card Resolution: 800x600 Video Render Type: VMR9 Audio Card Model: Realtek AC'97 Audio Audio Card Driver: 5.10.0.6050 Synopsis:: MediaPortal wakes up from standby for no apparent reason. The times appear to be remnants of past or even cancelled recordings. For example, I set up to record Robin Hood last Saturday evening at 19:05. The recording was successful. Sunday evening, Mediaportal woke up at 18:57 and shutdown again at 19:05. (I have set PowerScheduler to wake up 3 minutes before recording starts and I have added 5 minutes to the start and end times of the actual recording) giving the 8 minute lead time. PowerScheduler is set to go to standby after 5 minutes of inactivity. Is this problem known (I couldn't find any reference when I searched the messages)? Which files (database / xml) control the wakeup times? How can I stop these unwanted wakeups? Any help would be appreciated (the WAF is going down ).Regards, Ian. P.S. If there are any logs that might help, let me know and I will post them. |

Country: | Hi Ian, there are some issues around this area, but 'Bavarian' did already make a big fix there. See also here: powerscheduler and webepg powerscheduler / hibernate problem 2.1.0 Powerscheduler does not hybernate after a recording I must admit, that none of them applies directly to your problem, but all of them point into the same direction. Your MP-version 0.2.0.4 is slightly outdated. Perhaps give 0.2.1 a try. HTH /Gerd |

| Hi Gerd, Thanks for your reply. I know that my version is old but looking at the release information, version 0.2.1.0 was marked as a 'feature' release and was not stable. This was one of the reasons for not updating (the other was that everything appeared to be working OK in the 0.2.0.4 update). Last night I had a look at some source code for the PowerScheduler plugin and found the section that searches for the next wake-up time. I could understand the logic for all the types of recording types except the 'weekly' one, which is the one that is causing me trouble. This source code if fairly old and looking at the links you provided it seems that some work has taken place in this area. I will try the 0.2.1.0 build and the latest SVN and report back. Regards, Ian. |

Country: | Hi Ian, here is some update from my tests. Bad news: 0.2.1 has not the same, but other issues with Powerscheduler: After the last recording, it does not go back to hibernate. So on advice of the programmer 'Bavarian' from another post, I installed the latest SVN over 0.2.1, which screwed up MP completely. Then I installed 0.2.0.0 and latest SVN, but things with Powerscheduler got worse: - I could not start the machine manually with the (MCE) remote. - MP hooked up completely with a black screen after resume. None of the settings 'S3 standby ...' , 'Switch on TV ...' , PS: 'resume tuner' did help. Seems to be a bug. So all in all no luck on my side. Hope your are doing better. It's a real me...: Once one bug is said to be fixed, you get another issue somewhere else. WAF is dramatically decreasing. Good luck for you ! /Gerd |

| Hi Gerd, I had a similar upgrade nightmare on my test PC. I upgraded 0.2.1.0 with the latest SVN. When MP first started the home screen displays but none of the menu options are highlighted. Until you scroll or select one. I tried watching some recorded AVIs and everything was OK until the video finished or I stopped it, then the screen went black and I had to shut down MP via ALT-F4. I didn't bother checking to see if my PowerScheduler problem was solved, there were too many other issues. Currently, the 0.2.0.4 version I'm running the lounge works OK with the exception of the 'weekly' recording problem I mention in the first post. If I set the recordings to 'Every time on this Channel' the restart times are OK. The problem with this option is that it will record the program if it is re-run on the same channel. Regards, Ian. |
