usb-uirt doesn't learn

When I try to teach usb-uirt remote control codes, it seems like it can't learn anything. The red LED doesn't even turn on.
Usualy it works great, I teach and blast in other software, but not in MP.
I tried installing the newer drivers, but it's the same, I saw a post here, which recomended the older drivers.
please help... Since I installed vista I can't use MCE replacement plugin, because it breaks VMC, and my wife banned me from doing so...
I *really* love MP, it's such a great program, but I can't use it without blasting ...
btw, in XP I has the same problem.
