I control Media portal with my wireless mouse. When playing back TV programs I can use the mouse scroll wheel to move forward or backwards through the playback. The skip is 7 mins ( the same time as the Long Skip on the remote control). As my main use of the wheel is skipping through adverts , which only last 3or 4 mins, can anyone tell me what to edit in order to make this time 4 Mins.

Media Portal is a Super piece of software !

Nice! I was not aware that mouse wheel skips!

Maybe it is because it sends Page Up / Down keys to the application?

Hi
as mbuzina said it sounds like your mouse wheel is being translated into up/down commands.
Since it's a wireless mouse does it have a software package to configure the controls?
If so then you'll need to look at how to configure which keys the scrollwheel affects!

hope this helps!

Question

I too presume that the mouse is sending page up and down in the same way as the remote control up and down arrows does. The problem is that Media Portal converts this into a long skip of 7 mins. I need to tell Media portal that a long skip should be 4 mins. Is there a configuration file that I can edit or a database with the long skip value in that can be tweaked ?

Thanks for the help so far

yeah i think in configuration there is an option to view the keyboard shortcuts, but remember that this will affect other areas rather than just the fullscreen tv.

In configuration > general > keyboard shortcuts

but i don't see a way to edit them, perhaps in one of the config files?
I think this is going beyond my knowledge though
