VEEERY slow music browse - Music batabase questions

Ok as i said in my first topic i'm really new to this forum.
I have a large collection of mp3's (45.000 tracks or 190 GB)!

1. When i update the database it takes up to 3 hours to comlete! That's slow, but these is not a big problem as i will update my music database once a month.

2. When i change a view in media portal for example from view artist to view all songs it takes up to 5 minutes to show me the songs! That is a really big problem.
As i understand it's very difficult to show 45.000 tracks.
In meedio (i use this software from the early myhtpc days = 4 years now, but now Meedio LLC will wind-up their bussiness) there was an option to eliminate the tracks that will be shown in steps. For example i was able to have the view all songs to these steps:
A. Index by the first letter (A, B, C, D... ETC.)
B. When i choose a letter then i see all the songs that begins with that letter.
With that way the opening of a view was much faster and the browse with the remote control was faster too.

3. I see that the music database in media portal for my 45.000 tracks is only 9 MB. I meedio the same tracks made a database of 450 MB. My ID3TAGS has all the info that i want (Bio, Lyrics, Covers etc). So as i understand media portal inserts in database less tags.

4. (Related to the adove). Is possible to insert from the ID3TAG the tag popullarimeter, which is the Tag Favorites? With that way i will not have to tag as favorite any track inside media portal.

Hi,

not sure I can help with all questions but number 2.

You can create your owns views in the music area of configuration. this should give you the ability to filter but letter eg A. B. C.

There are other views already there that you can use a base.
