Just a general observation while trying to solve the above.

1) IMHO it would be better to have your PC as a dedicated HTR as all the different
settings that each individual windows package employs usually eventually screws
up your set up

2) I am firmly convinced that heat in the processor plays a huge part in causing stutter
both in video and sound.Thats why I find after an extended period of time watching one
singal channel I attempt to change, the OSD acts up and as a result unwanted results
in video and sound occur.

I think the MP software is excellent but when excessive heat is introduced into electronics
weird things happen.I used to experience this with a Pace set top decoder.Pictures used
to freeze, sound went funny and to solve I used to unplug it, cool it down and hey presto
problem solved.

Maybe more research into the excessive heat that P4 3.0ghz and upwards processors have
an video intensive applications would yield positive results.We are a fair way away from the
settop PC setup for PVR use.
