Video Jumping when i run from shared folder

I'm currently have two computers one as my main PC and another for media center in my lounge. I have media portal all set up to run my videos (divx and xvids) from my main pc in another room by sharing the folders they reside in. after about 60-90 seconds in the video starts jumping liek it's buffering? is there anyway i can stop this?

I normally just give up and burn a copy to a cd-r and run it off that. but it's becoming tiresome?

What sort of network connection is between the two? Wired, wireless, speed, etc.

Sorry yeah didn't think of that My Main computer is just pluged in with a RJ45 but the Media Center is wireless but 54mbps and good signal all the time.
