I select PLAY on the VIDEOS screen after a few seconds the system returs control but the video doesn't start. I'm a new user and just upgraded from RC2 to RC3, it is quite possible this is a set up error, but I repeated what I did on the previous version. Many Thanks Steve |

Country: | Gives all the indocation that you don't have the codec installed for that particular video, try using ffdshow, this allowed me to play a previously inaccessible xvid I had. |

| Thanks for your reply. I did some more testing after posting, and tried the video directly in WMP10, it requested the codec for download, which failed, however, I tried the same file in another player and it worked without problem!!! I've had something similar with WMP10 before, frightened the life out of me, as I had loads of recorded TV that it looked like I couldn't play  Is it possible the codec is being locked by something else? When I've had this issue on WMP10 I've also been recording at the same time, I don't think I've had it when I wasn't! Regards Steve |

Country: | Could be a conflict if you've downloaded some codecs or installed some software recently, you could always try a system restore back to when it was working or rather more drastically a complete install. I was having significant problems with my system. bit the bullet installed tinyxp with wmp, dx9.0, .NET and a few other bits and bobs then MP and now everything is hunky dory. But then this is a dedicated MP box with nothing else on it. |
