| Portal Member | Hi all ok I have been having an MP nightmare... I installed the final release of MP and found it was working a treat, for a reason related to movies and folder.jpg I decided to upgrade to the latest SVN. After installing the SVN I found that whenever I tried to play an avi in fullscreen mp would play about 2 secs of audio but instantly minimise to the start bar and lock up. After checking error logs it seemed it was a Direct X error. All files play fine within media player and if I dissable the "use explicit option" in MPs config it seems to play full screen but isnt as smooth as it was with this option enabled (When it was working). DVD playback is fine and TV playback is fine and im tottally stumped I was thinking of completely removing MP and re setting it back up but I have done so much to it I really dont want to go through this savage process when it could be very easily sorted. Any ideas anyone? All help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Country: | Supply system specs and logs as generated by mptesttool. Then someone might be able to pick up your problem.

| Portal Member | Hi again thanks for a responce... yeah I guess I should have included a log before but I was wondering if anyone had a quick fix. Nevermind here is the log from the mptesttool. I am also considering removing MP completely as I have a backup of my prev install before the SVN and reinstall the final then recopy the dir over the top and see if that resolves the issue. Anyways if anyone else has any info thats always good and I always appreciate the help... Thanks again!

| Portal Member | Hi thanks for your responce Ray but no I dont have 120dpi fonts set, I did check this some time back but thanks for the nudge. Upon further investigation today I removed my MP install completely (Simply making duplicate copies of the 2 MP folders) I reinstalled the stable release and made no changes to the config other than check that use Explicit VMR9 was selected and added some movies to the db. This worked so my instant reaction was to think that the prev installed files were corrupt somewhere along the line. I then copied my original backed up MP folders over the new installed ones and the problem re-occured. I then decided to remove again and reinstall MP from scratch doing exactly the same thing and the problem was still there :-/ v v strange and upon further investigation it seems that what is happening is MP is minimizing to the taskbar and pausing the video, If I press play I can hear the audio and my VFD displays all info correctly. I have also just updated my ATI drivers as new drivers were released in March. I should prob also mention the PC spec: Vista 32bit Pentium D 2160 CPU 2gig RAM ATI Radeon 2400 HD gfx card Am i the first to have this issue? another quick point to make is that I can have VMR9 exclusive enabled or dissabled and playback of DVD/TV works fine just avi's fail.

Country: | Hello, I am also having this problem, Apart from I am a new user and this is my first time installing your software. I am having the same problem as the user above, Apart from I have no audio. I was only testing this software out on my vista laptop before I put it on my media PC but even without the video playback I have fallen in love with the software and the user base of the forum and plug-ins, anywho. Does anyone know why this is? And how to fix it? Thank you. Danny. |
