Default Video scanned database stored on server?

Is it possible to make scraped material (be it my video or my tv plugin) be stored on the server instead of locally?

E.g. On the media server I would install media portal. Do my scraping there. Media portal on the HTPC would then checkthe database and see if there is change between the local and the on stored on the server. If there is the local will be replaced with server's.

This would work much better if there are multiple HTPC's at home. So I would only need to scrape on the server and then all machines will be automaticalled updated.

Thanks.

leave it with me then, I will start on it tomorrow. It will require users to use TVE3 though as it will use this dbase engine as storage. intentions are to also store the coverart's in the main DB and pass to clients as well. The only concerns I have is that SQL Lite is only designed for single client usage and corruption may occur with this plugin writing whilst the MP is trying to acces at the same time. Let's see how we go.........

Thanks.
I have seen a thread on this forum where the poster had one machine do the IMDB lookup and write to the database stored on it. Then other machines in the house were pointed to that database, but, crucially, they had Read-Only access so as to prevent issues with conflicting writes.

Maybe try that? I am idly considering trying this, so would be interested if you get it working.
