Hi All,

Did anybody end up getting this card working? I am using RC2 with a fairly recent CVS and I am getting the "Cannot Create Graph for this Device" when I try to add it to the list of cards.

I only purchased this card because it is in the supported hardware list and also appears in the capcard def file. Now that I have shelled out the bucks it appears that it doesn't work after all ??

Hi. Never got this going in the end, but feel like it shouldn't be all that hard. I've a feeling it won't work out of the box, but will when you have certain (unknown at this time) third-party directshow filters present.

I had kinda assumed this would get resolved eventually and so I moved on to other things, but I could probably still be persuaded to help resolve it if the MP guys want to dig a bit deeper into it...

I purchased this product 1) Because it was listed as being supported and 2) I was hoping that it would fix an IRQ problem with my current PCI capture solution. So for me it is virtually do or die to get it running.

I would also be prepared to do whatever is needed if the MP support people are willing to help get it running. Clearly it is listed as being supported, but also just as clearly this is simply not the case

Do we need to contact them or do you think DMAN is still reading this thread?

Your guess is as good as mine on that I'm afraid.

In the meantime, it might be worth installing the Moonlight Odia Dekoda - the videoh captures audio to LPCM and this codec will allow you to render this stream.

Judging by what I appear to have said in my previous posts (!), the audio could have been the problem and this might just fix it (may be a long shot but unfortunately I can't test the theory here right now).

I got a version of the Moonlight Odia Dekoda from doom9 rebooted after registering it and I am afraid it makes no difference, unable to create graph etc.

Strangely enough, Dscaler will not run the Adaptec either, and as far as I know Dscaler is basically the standard for judging how a card performs or not. This worries me more than a little because it is the first time I have seen Dscaler not be able to run a card.

DScaler throws up a "error on line XXX in dscaler.cpp" message, or something to that effect. The error is 100% reproducable if it is of any use.

FYI, installed MP 0.2 RC2 on my laptop, with the Adaptec box connected and it worked. Well when I say worked, it created the graph and showed some live TV before hanging when I tried fullscreen.

Running XP SP2, DirectX 9.0c.

Looked at the filter using graphedit and it didn't look like there was anything strange in there:

Adaptec USB TvTuner
Adaptec USB TvAudio
Adaptec USB Crossbar
Adaptec USB Capture Device
Smart Tee
MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder [from MediaPortal]
Default DirectShow Device
Mpeg2Dec Filter [from MediaPortal]
Video Mixing Renderer

So not sure where that leaves us, but at least we know it is possible to get it working. Can post logs if they'll be of any use.

Sorry guys I thought this was fixed last year.

Yes the problem was Audio related due to the demuxer not looking for LPCM.
I'll see if it can be sorted before the release.

OK I have it working here.
I have a patched dll which will work with these devices only.
You'll need CVS - http://www.team-mediaportal.de/: --> 03-14-2006--21-26 h (CET)

then the patch here... http://www.team-mediaportal.de/Videoh_TVCapture.zip.
If it does / does not work then let me know.

If it does for most of you then I'll look to try and accomodate it into CVS before the 0.2.0 release.
