Video Card Driver: -
Video Card Resolution: 800x600
Video Render Type: Overlay
Audio Card Model: C-Media AC97 Audio Device

When i watch my videos or even tv, the picture doesnt cover the whole screen. In the movies config, for Default zoom mod, the only option that works is original, the rest give me a black screen. The only way i can think to get it in full screen is use a different player. If that is the case what is a good player to use?

I also have the same problem with my tv. The frame size is set to 720x480. Can i make this a custom setting? Or is their a different way to make it full screen?

My current resolution is 800x600

*edit* added support template info, sorry

Use the Support Template http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=2766

The zoom modes should work and so one of them should make the picture look right. I would try and fix that problem before considering new players.

Ok got it to work, had to uncheck "Use Exclusive DirectX Mode for fullscreen tv/video"

Any idea why? I have DirectX 9 installed.

Thanks for your posting.

I had the same problem:
- no video / blank screen (at full screen mode)
- only audio (at full screen mode)

Divx was playing OK; but MPG & MP4 had these problems.

Windows Media Player was working OK.

I also fixed it with the setting "Use Exclusive DirectX Mode for fullscreen tv/video".
This setting can be found at the General Settings in the MediaPortal setup.

Yes do not know why some people benefit by using exclusive directX mode, the only reason can think of is there graphics card, is really not up to the job. Would not recommend any graphics card that does not FULLY support DX9.
Minimum would be Nvidia 6200 or ATI equivalant or better. (if you have high cpu usage on first install of MediaPortal and your Graphics card is below this specification, then its time to upgrade).
Sorry to sound harsh, but you do need the best possible video output, this is what MP is about.
