Default Videos take forever to "catch up" when fast forwar

If I am watching a video via "my videos" everything is great till I try to fastward or rewind then the video and sound just freeze. I could restart MP or the video and it would load to the right frame but just sit there. Tonight I found out that if I just leave it there the video/sound will eventually "catchup" and then it will play fine. Towards the end of a long movie it can take a few minutes to "catchup", anyway to get rid of this?

It would help you to get an answer if you used the Support Template......otherwise, we have no idea which version of MP you are using, or any other details of your setup.

Synopsis::

I have SIMILAR PROBLEMS but maybe I haven't waited to see it resume (if it doesn't unfreeze by 1 minute it's too long to wait!)

Only for SOME TV RECORDINGS will they NOT FAST FORWARD OR REWIND.

Interestingly, this is the case in Windows Media Player v10, as well. Whatever will FF or REW ok in Media Portal is also ok in WMPv10; whatever doesn't also does not in the other program. So that points out that it's some kind of inconsistent RECORDING issue or bug triggering event? I searched the forum first, I could have missed it, but the closest thing I found in the forum like my problem was this 3/18 post in GENERAL SUPPORT by tacroy.

Any suggestions/advice/similar issues?

Thanks,
-BMJ
