Question VISTA: TV/Video flickering in the menus

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2.0
Windows Version: Vista Ultimate x86
CPU Type: AMD Athlon64 3800+
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 80GB
Memory: 1GB Corsair DDR2
Motherboard: MSI K9VGM-V
Motherboard Chipset: VIA K8M890
Video Card: MSI GeForce 7300GS 256MB HDMI/HDCP
Video Card Driver: Forceware 100.65
TV Card: Hauppage PVR150MCE
MPEG2 Video Codec: Nvidia Purevideo 1.02.233
MPEG2 Audio Codec: Nvidia Purevideo 1.02.233
HTPC Case: Antec Fusion
Remote: iMON VFD & Remote
TV: Panasonic 37" PV60EH Plasma
TV - HTPC Connection: VGA/DVI adapter atm..

Hi!

I just installed Vista Ultimate x86, and now the TV/Video is flickering in the menus.
On the TV menu, there is no picture at all. In the other menus, there is picture every 0.5 second, flickering.
Fullscreen TV works. Fullscreen overlay works.

I have tryed different drivers from Nvidia, but still the same. Also tryed 3 versions of the Purevideo decoder.

The BASS player doesn't work in Vista either..

Are these general Vista problems in 0.2.2.0? Are these problems fixed in latest SVN?
I would like to know before I install an SVN version, I rather use stable unless I must otherwise.

did you try to go back to Forceware 53.03, with my GeForce 5200 I've had flashing and stuttering problems (when changing channels or screen it seemed to try to change resolution) until I went back to 53.03

hope this helps

There are to few features enabled in those drivers..
I'll just stick with Vista MCE on this one until the next driver arrives.
Should be on guru3d anytime now.

Vista MCE runs surprisingly well at this early stage.. Just too bad the library is useless!
Just good for TV and recording, EPG etc..

Question Compiled version MP x64 for Vista?

I have the same problem when using DScaler as MPEG2 decoder. When I use the Purevideo codec I get the message "No signal detected". The latest SVN did not solve the problem. MP plays dvr-ms files with Nvidia Purevideo without any problem. So the problem should be in the Hauppauge driver or the tv engine. As Vista MCE is 64 bits and it should work (my Vista version has no MCE) with Hauppauge 500MCE, I would like to try a x64 compiled version of MP. Is there someone who has compiled MP 0.2.2.0 for x64 and can make it available? (Since I don't have Visual Studio 2005 and don't have experience with VS 2005)

I would appreciate that a lot.

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2.0
Windows Version: Vista Profesional x64
CPU Type: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
HDD: WD Raptor 150Gb
Memory: DDR2 4x1Gb
Motherboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Motherboard Chipset: Intel 975X
Video Card: Gigabyte GV-NX76T256D-RH (GeForce 7600 GT)
Video Card Driver: 7.15.11.65 (10 Feb 07)
TV Card: Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-500MCE
TV Card driver: 6.0.6000.16408 (8 Jan 07)
MPEG2 Video Codec: Nvidia Purevideo 1.02.233
MPEG2 Audio Codec: Nvidia Purevideo 1.02.233
HTPC Case: Antec LifeStyle Sonata II

The problem is not only with TV in my case, its videos and DVD aswell.

There is no Vista MCE edition btw...
The Vista Mediacenter is available in Home Premium and Ultimate editions of Vista.
Both 32bit and 64bit.

Ok, I have the Business on this computer. But you can still get the mediacenter in Vista x64. You just need one of the editions that I mentioned above.

But its not any good atm, the lack of drivers is a bigger problem with the x64 editions of Vista. Your X64 mediacenter wont work very well, according to TGB.

Anyway, I uninstalled Vista and are now back on XPMCE2005 and Mediaportal
