Default VIVO card Not working, HELP!!! Geforce 3, Phillips chip...

Not sure what phillips chip is on my Geforce, but I can't get MediaPortal to bring up a video image.

I realize this isn't exactly a tuner card, and it's an old GeForce3 ti200 with VIVO, 128MB RAM, but this card shows up in the configuration, I just can't seem to get it to "tune in"

...first time user of the software here. Just looking to see if anyone else has got their VIVO card working with the software.

Couldn't tell by the "supported cards" if mine is or not. I'm too tired right now to look up the exact chip, but I remember it was a Phillips, which I saw several of on the supported list.

Any help appreciated!!!

Thanks

To display a video image the Graphics card should be DX9 compatible and I don't believe your card is.

That is a problem allround.

1.
Not DX9
2.
If a TV tuner card integrated on board, it will presumably be analogue and software driven, so you would also need a 2.8Ghz processor to run With MediaPortal.

correct, it's not dx9. I do have DX9c installed and running though...
was thinking about getting the 6600 VIVO edition...

still, why can't this card work??? It's a very simple video encoding/decoding chip that seems to detect and work just fine with other software... for processor speed, I'm fine to encode and decode MPEG2. Athlon 2100+ oc'd to a 2600. That should be plenty fast for MPEG2.

my rig is very simple, I use it for dubbing off camcorder tapes to dvd through this card. Well, I had a VCR (yes, those are definitely not DX9 compatible!) hooked up recently and decided, hey, this thing has a cable tuner, why not record shows like a DVR???

...This software looks promising, guess I'll have to get a tuner card, AND a better graphics card now...

.thank for the responses!!!
