No its not that there is no sound it is that there is no volume control. (When you press the up and down volume the sound doesn't change and nether does windows master sound or whatever I set MP to use) IF I do it manual with the MP shortcut keys it works fine!

Try uninstalling the e-home driver (has to be done with receiver plugged in).

Remove receiver after uninstall.

reboot

Reconnect receiver.

Test in windows media player.

Anyone installed the MCE alternative driver by any chance ?

No I havn't tried them. I have done a fresh install on a new pc with different versions of everything and still no abiltiy to change the volume in MP using the remote. I then changed the key mapping of the remote and swoped the volume and channel buttons and now the channel buttons do operate the volume...

So I guess it must be that MP is not getting the signel from the remote...

Dose anyone know where can I get the "MCE alternative driver" from?

Thumbs up a simple fix?

I upgraded to 0.2.3.0 RC1 and my volume buttons on my MCE remote stopped working as well. All the mappings are straight forward and it just didn't make sense. BFRYE had the same problem in a previous version and fixed it by plugging the MCE remote receiver into another USB port.

I did the same and voila... problem solved!
