I already posted this at the input/output devices - support forum but since there were practically no readers I'll double-post it here... 1: I have a small issue with the FireDTV remote: when I put the system into standby/hibernate and wake it up again the remote won't work until restarting MP. Any suggestions? 2: Mediaportal's working great otherwise and this isn't actually a bug or anything. So here's the thing: I'm using the FireDTV-C TV-tuner with it's own remote to control MP. It's connected to the computer with firewire, not USB. This means I'm able to put the system into standby/hibernate with the remote, but not start it up again, which would be nice because then it would be controlled like any other AV-system. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not THAT lazy. I can get my ass of the sofa and push the mouse button to wake it up from standby, but it would be nice to get it working though.. ![]() So is it possible to wake the computer up via firewire??? This TV-tuner does come with an optional external powerplug so it can be powered up all the time, and hence receive signals from the remote even though the computer is off. But is there anyway for it to actually wake up the computer? Thx for any help! ![]() |

Country: | I've just googled "wake on firewire" and despite reading load of threads, absolutely nothing about waking a PC from firewire. Hope someone else can be a bit more positive, but do not hold your breathe. One thing i did find, which is pretty obvious really, Apple can use firewire in a lot more ways than a IBM based PC.
