Default Whats the difference from NTSC and PAL? Newbie question

So i'm making my first attempt at building a mp box and i'm deciding on tuners, ive got my eye on the haupauge 500 dual but what is the difference between NTSC an PAL? If it makes any difference i'm a DirectTV subscriber in California.

Oh....Sorry! I only read your post quickly. I see it's Adolfo! '' Please excuse my Aussie humor. If your in the US, NTSC is your TV format....so you DON'T need to worry about PAL. Unless of coarse through your tuner card you are going to be recording video tapes and the like from Europe, Australia etc. But we have got nothing worth recording anyway! ':roll:'
I think these days most cards will support both NTSC & PAL depending on what software and drivers your using.
