Question Win TV-Nova-S in media portal

Just received the WinTV Nova-s PCI card this morning and have installed it. I downloaded the latest drivers from Hauppauge and the card works fine using their software. I can view FTA TV and Radio without problem.

I obviously want to add this card to MP but when I go into the config and click Add under Television>Capture Cards I get the error message "No video device was found, you won't be able to configure a capture card" followed by "no video capture card(s) were found, you won't be able to configure a capture card".

I have tried restarting the machine but I'm at a loss for what else to do. I would blame Hauppauges drivers as they are usually shockingly bad but the card is full recognised by windows (device manager) and the Bundled software.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Yes, install MP1.0RC1 and chose watch HD Television, which will install TVServer.

AFAIK the hauppauge card works flawlessly with this.

Thanks for the reply paranoid.
I un-installed what I had and installed RC1 selecting HDTV during install. I installed mysql 5 and started TV Server. However the card doesn't show up in the list in the TV Server config and I can't find a way to add it. I've had a look through the documentation here but that only deals with already recognised cards.
Am I missing something?

Version 2.122.26109 Check in Device manager thats your driver version (Hauppauge Digital: Support)

I take it you rebooted, if done that, physically stop the TVService in taskmanager, wait a minute and then restart the service from the TVserver config icon, anything showing up in TVServer now.

Update, just did a search on the forum and quite a few people have the dvb-s card working with both MP's internal TV and TVServer.

make sure you have no other software accessing the card, stopping MP from connecting to it (hauppauge\mce for instance)

Yeah I rebooted after the uninstall and again after installing RC1 and I have just tried stopping and starting the TV Server as well.
I've had a go at installing the drivers you suggested but get the error message that no compatible drivers have been found. This may be because my card (Nova – S PCI) is listed under legacy drivers on the Hauppauge support pages. I think the drivers you suggest probably are for the Nova – S Plus/S2.
I have the latest drivers from the legacy support page.
Is the Nova-S PCI compatible with MP? I have been going by this page which lists that it is....

Thanks Again

New Technotrend driver on Hauppauge Nova-CI

Looks like your version may be the same as the technotrend, try downloading the bda drivers from there.

This may only work with the MP version 0.2.3.0 (no TVServer), and unfortunately no chance to update, but do not take my word for it as do not have one to test (and you can see MP-team thoughts on this card)

Only link found to drivers PC-Produkte

See if the 1500 bda drivers are compatible.

Older version of MP found here if neccessary.
