Country: | This may be an obvious question, but have you installed the elecard codec? There are some instructions floating around here somewhere for legally acquiring that codec. The download site on the makers home page doesn't have the right version any more, but someone should be able to PM you if you ask nocely? (not me though, as I am not home at the moment) |

| I thought I had it installed but I didn't. Now I do and still get the error. I've also got another problem now which may be related. Summary: Problem 1: GSpot audio rendering seems broken. Problem 2: Can't XVID compress. Problem 1: I can't render audio after playing with Radlight and trying to get GSpot to render as per this thread: http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/vi...hlight=elecard Before playing with Radlight: Code: (S) --> Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer --> MPV Decoder Filter --> (R) (S) --> Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer --> MPA Decoder Filter --> Morgan Stream Switcher --> (R) Code: (S) --> Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer --> InterVideo Video Decoder --> (R)
DirectShow partially succeeded to play file. The actual text of the error or warning is:
0x00040242: VFW_S_PARTIAL_RENDER - Some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format.
The following combination of filters were used:
{C:\Documents and Sett..-..ke\Desktop\SVCD77.mpg} (Video Source)
{Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer} (Video Splitter)
{InterVideo Video Decoder} (Video Decoder)
{Video Renderer} (Video Renderer)
Problem 2: Receive error when trying to compress using XVID Still get original error even though I think the Elecard decoder is installed correctly. Thanks Luke. |

| I've managed to fix problem 1 by reinstalling ffdshow. I've still got the XVID compress problem. I assume it's some kind of codec issue but I don't know what to do next. Any suggestions on how to continue to diagnose would be very, very much appreciated. MediaPortal log posted here: http://mp.pastebin.com/709883 Graphedit seems to show the Elecard Demuxer OK: ![]() Anyone? Anyone? Thanks Luke. |

I have the Elecard codec installed and activated (paid for) and so far I haven't seen anything compress to xvid. Also the size fps and bitrate options are grayed out. I record an NTSC broadcast and I can't get the settings to change from a 720x576, 25fps recording... is this a feature that is just in the planning phases now? Here's the error I get: Code: 6/30/2006 9:12:02 AM StreamBufferPlayer:GetVideoSize() failed 6/30/2006 5:23:55 PM DVR2XVID:Unable create graph: The system cannot find the file specified. | I've tried both the auto-compress and the on-demand compress. Auto-compress never seemed to do anything at all - I'm not sure what it's supposed to do: ie. when it's supposed to auto-compress. I get the same error as you do "Unable to create graph" after the "add elecard mpeg2 video codec" message. Most of the settings are greyed out for me too. For MPEG-2 I can change only priority, for WMV and XVID: quality and priority. I posted another thread in General Talk asking "Does anyone use XVID compression" - after 94 views - not a single response. I wonder if we are wasting our time trying to get it working. Maybe it's just broken or not complete in MP at this stage. One of the problems with MP is knowing what should be working and what is a known 'bug'. At the moment I compress to MPEG in MP - using the manual "Compress All" function. Then convert to XVID outside MP. |

If you believe that this is a new bug and you are prepared to document it in a reproducible way, then it would be helpful if you logged it here for confirmation... ![]()

as you're say you're a newbi, try AutoGK.... best i've ever tried without needing to settipng something up really.... i convert all my recordings to 1GB Divx files with autoGK. but you have to convert your files to mpeg in MP first
