only the screen wont turn on .. Using vlc no problem . .can play it.. can play videos.. . gonna try the same on vista as I have with the working XP .. Tvserver is actually on the 29-03 release.. (works great better then ever).. The working clients (xp) are using mediaportal final .. with SVN 20-03 and client plugin from 20-03.. Vista with mediaportal final and svn29-03 and client plugin 29-03 is not working.. I have had al vistas working with the 20-03 release before.. but re-imaged the system .. so first will run some logs for the developpers and then re-image again and install 20-03 client setup and see what happens ![]()

Country: | make sure all MP components (MEdiaPortal, TV Server, TV Client) are on the same svn versions.(strange things do happen if there is a mix of svn's)

| MP Donator ![]() | Project sounds very cool, something I would do if/when I build a house. However, it sounds like your friend's client is a person with a lot of cash to burn. In my experience, MP isn't at the stability level I'd imagine a wealthy person would be happy with right now. It IS pre-release, so I'm not trying to knock the developers but anyone that's building a 500m2 villa would probably want something rock stable. Not trying to discourage you, but just pointing out that installing pre-release software in production would warrant risk acceptance from the client. On the other hand, Mediaportal is amazing. I simply love the interface and capabilities compared to everything out there. I'll be building a few Mediaportal "extender" machines on the cheap for under $300 based on the upcoming Nvidia 8200 series hdmi motherboards. The only 2 features missing for me are using folder names for movie database scanning(solis66 said he's making a plugin to address this), and the previous watched channel button is hardcoded to the zero button. Makes selecting channels with a zero in it rather impossible. Sounds like you're not in NA, so this is probably not an issue for you. Anyhow, keep us updated on how your project goes. |

| stoked: you are right about your concerns regarding the quality of product such a client will be expecting, and this is exactly whatwe are doing right now, we are studying the different options and trying to come up with the best possible solution. And yes, money is no object to these people and they do expect a rock solid solution in which they don't have to use anything but the remote to operate they toys ![]() |
