Bad TV quality with tv engine 3 (Server)

My expirience with the tv server (0.3) is that the live tv quality isn't so good as with the tv engine 0.2.
I have problems with fast movements (like sports) during live tv. Then MP cut the live tv image. To change the channels are also very slow.
Any idea how i can improve these think??

have you tried different audio/video codecs then MPA/MPV yet, preferably any with hardware acceleration? (like intervideo, cyberlink, nvidia etc)

As i wrote in the title ... do the display resolution affect the live tv quality.? Is the quality with 1024x768 better then with 800x600?

If you output standard definition TV broadcast on a standard definition TV then the optimal resolution is the PAL native one : 720x576 @ 50 half image / second

i have an LCD TV which is connected over s-video PC Output. I am not a guru ;-).
Is for that combination the resolution 720x576 the best one? What's your proposal?

what is the make and model of your TV?

check the manual or the manufacturers website for the native resolution. Run your PC using that. s-video isn't the best connection to use. DVI, or VGA would be much better. Your graphics card is probal scaling the 1024x768 resolution down to 720x576 and then the TV could be scaling this up to the native resolution of the panel.

i have the LG 42LC2D which supported the resolution 1366x768. Is this the native solution? Sorry i didn't find any information about the native solution in the internet. If i will use a vga cable can i use a normal vga cable?

Yes that will be the native resolution of the TV. You should notice an improvement in picture quality.

Having a look at the specification on the LG UK site, it shows as having a PC input (another name for VGA) and HDMI. If you have a DVI output on your graphics card (which i would expect you Radeon to have) then you should be able to use a DVI to HDMI cable.
